Fred Saintsing Obituary

Mr. Fred Morris Saintsing, 94, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, SC, formerly of Midway School Road, Thomasville,  passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Hospice Cottage of Charleston. Mr. Saintsing was born on May 24, 1925 in Davidson County, NC to the late William Fred and Sara Ann Morris Saintsing. He retired from Air Products and Chemicals of Greensboro after many years of service. Mr. Saintsing was a veteran of the United States Marines, having served his country during World War II and the Korean War. On November 16, 1947 he married Margaret “Peggy” Dougan. He loved the game of golf and hunting and fishing. He was a member of Pine Woods Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Saintsing, who passed away June 8, 2014; three sisters, Ellen Mae Lewis, Mary Glendora Kelly, and Annie Rosetta Veach; and a brother, William Max Saintsing.

Mr. Saintsing is survived by two daughters, Sandra Kaye Saintsing and husband Craig Heim of Savannah, GA and Rebecca Saintsing Flores and husband Shawn of Rocky Point, NC; two sons, Richard Gary Saintsing and wife Sherry of Matthews and Dale Morris Saintsing and wife Mindy of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a sister, Gypsie Christine Bellar and husband Martin of Harrogate, TN; eight grandchildren, Michael Saintsing of Matthews, Matthew Saintsing and wife Tyler of Indian Trail; Amy Saintsing and husband Rick Cook of Indian Trail, Emily Hogeboom and husband Jordan of Monks Corner, NC, Adam Jones and wife Jess of Winston-Salem, Hannah Jones of Wilmington, Maggie Flores of Wilmington, and Miguel Flores of Rocky Point; and eight great-grandchildren, Rylie and Wyatt Saintsing, Bryson Walsh, Kendall Cook, Mia Hogeboom, Gavin, Asher, and Norah Jones.

A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 1:00PM in Pine Woods United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.
