Ms. Alanna Leigh Morton, 26, a resident of Concord, NC, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord. She was born on July 14, 1996 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to her parents, Kimberlee Kelly Morton and William Morton. Alanna graduated from Amity Regional High School in Connecticut and she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a double minor in public health and psychology from UNC Charlotte. During college, she was an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority and Vice President of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. She exhibited her strong work ethic by working for Carrier Enterprise as a Sales Specialist since she graduated, in addition to working part time at Crave and Haymaker in Charlotte. Alanna brought such joy and positive energy to any group or room she walked into. Her smile, love, and joy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Kelly, and paternal grandparents, Cynthia and James Morton.
Surviving is her parents, William and Kimberlee Morton of Orange, CT; one sister, Lindsay Morton (John FitzPatrick); maternal grandparents, William and Peg Kelly; her boyfriend, Luke Williams and his family, Rob and Whitney Williams, Graham, Payton, and Walker Williams, and Margie Collins and David Williams. Also surviving are Aunts, Brenda Sasso (Chip) and Ruth Perkins (Robert Golding); cousins, CJ, Billy, Nicole Sasso, RJ Perkins, and Jose Rios; God-parents, Laurie Kuhn, John Kuhn, and Bobby Webb; loving dog, Sage; and many extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville. Special memories to be shared following the service in the Christian Enrichment Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, jdrf.org.
