Mr. Albert “J.R.” Stoots, Jr., 86, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 while at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on January 15, 1935 in Lebanon, Virginia to the late Albert and America Robson Stoots, Sr. J.R. was the youngest of ten children and will be remembered by his friendly nature, never meeting a stranger. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and worked his adult life as a steel fabricator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin sons, Guy Nelson “Tony” Stoots Wright and Jimmie Stoots Wright, and by two former wives, Sue Stoots and Micky Stoots.

J.R. is survived by a daughter, Lisa Bane (Douglas); son, Jason Stoots; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vicky Wright; special friends, Anita Phillips, Roland Hayes, Jr., Mark Sanders and family, Bill Seney, Heather Pearce and family, and Tammy Ramey; and a host of other friends.
