Albert “Raeford” Williams

Mr. Albert “Raeford” Williams, 75, a resident of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 in High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Williams was born in Davidson County to the late A.C. “Junior” and Treva Mae Hancock Williams on May 21, 1945. He retired from the textile industry. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, especially having a special place in his heart for his great-grandchildren. Mr. Williams enjoyed being outside and sitting in the sun. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Elaine Williams, and a grandson, Lane Smith, II.

Mr. Williams is survived by his children, Wanda Cline of Thomasville, Ricky Williams and wife of Thomasville, Danny Williams of Archdale, April Williams Raldiris and husband Edward of Atlanta, GA, and Cynthia Williams Murphy and husband Jack of Thomasville; step-son, Anthony Hancock of High Point; sisters, Betty Clifton of Thomasville and Joyce Buckner of Thomasville; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in the JC Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM. There will not be a formal visitation. Mr. Williams will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-6, and until the time of his service on Thursday for anyone who would like to come pay their respects.
