Alma "Gingi" Brown Obituary

Alma “Gingi” Virginia Williams Brown, 81, of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Pine Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Thomasville.

 

Gingi was born on November 25, 1938 to the late Clayton Foster Williams and Mary Catharine Myers Williams in Davidson County. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thomasville. Gingi will be remembered for her love of Carolina Tar Heels, baseball, Elvis, her cats, and most importantly her grandchildren. She loved the Lord, and her family very much.

 

In addition to her parents, Gingi was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brown in 1979; her sister, Peggy Waddell; three brothers, Joe, Bobby, and David Williams; special nephew, Michael Williams. Surviving are her two sons, Chuck Brown and wife Anita of Thomasville, Jamey Brown and wife Karla of Trinity; a daughter, Tammy Brown of VA; a brother, Franklin Williams of OH; six grandchildren, Tara Nicole Bowers, Jeremy Wayne Bowers (Meredith Pit), Thad Brown and wife Brittany, Zack Brown and wife Ashton, Hilary Brown-Price and spouse Candice, Taylor Brown and fiancé Ethan; eleven great-grandchildren, Caden Adkins, Rylan Brown, Ariana Taylor, J.T. Taylor, Kailyn Brown, Elin Bowers, Harper Bowers, Asher Justus, Charleston Brown, Wilder Price, Lainey Justus; special niece, Bonnie Williams, and her children Nathan and Hope; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Cassie Overcash officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. The family will greet friend’s prior at the service from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. Mask and social distancing are requested for all events. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s organization of their choice. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
