Anita Doris Wilson Voyles, 94, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Pine Ridge Health Center.  Anita was born on July 6, 1929, the oldest child of Millard Wilson and Ethel Massey Wilson. Along with her parents, Anita is preceded in death by her sister Mildred Wilson Bray and leaves behind her brother Kenneth Lamar Wilson.

Upon graduating Thomasville High School, Anita met and married the love of her life, Ralph Taylor Voyles.  Married for 58 years, the couple raised their three children in Thomasville and Statesville, NC. Anita spent several years working in the sandwich shop at Thomasville Hospital and was a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. 

Anita enjoyed many hobbies including jigsaw puzzles, tending to her flowers, watching Nascar races, and trips to the beach. She was very gifted at cross stitch and created beautiful pieces which are treasured by her family. Anita dined daily at the Carolina Diner and was affectionately known as “Ms. Honey.”

Anita’s greatest joy in life was her family.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Voyles. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy Voyles (Betsy) of Wake Forest; two daughters, Brenda Rogers (Dennis) of Thomasville, Teresa Strickland (Robby) of Carolina Beach; grandchildren Craig Voyles (Brian), Shawn Rogers (Leigh Ann), Kevin Rogers (Robin), Lauren Repnyek (David), Kristin Carlson, Katie Gattis (Glenn), Scott Strickland (Katie); and great grandchildren Taylor, Brandon, Quinton, Zackary, Logan, Sydney, Lilly, Felix, Raelynn, Allie, and Hayden.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2024 at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville, with Rev. Bynum Orr and Kevin Rogers officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the service.  Anita will be laid to rest beside her dear husband in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.    Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Thomasville, 8 Cramer Street, Thomasville, NC.  Online condolences may be left at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
