Mrs. Annie Laurie (Fulp) Smith, 96 of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at her home surrounded by family. Annie was a proud member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, which she attended her whole life. One of Annie’s favorite things to do was to open her arms to all children. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and pets. Preceding Annie in death is her husband of 73 years, Joseph V. Smith. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Gerald Smith (Becky), Joe Mike Smith (Donna), David Smith (Michelle), and Scotty Smith (Holly); the daughter she never had, Jennifer Smith (Marty); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends; and caregiver, Gwen Harris. A private family service will be held, with a public memorial service taking place at Shady Grove United Methodist Church (167 Shady Grove Church Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107) at a later date. Reverend Doctor Tom Mabry will be officiating the service.
