Archie Turner

Mr. Archie Turner, 85, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at his home. He was born on September 9, 1939 in Horry County, South Carolina to his parents, the late Anna Martin Turner and Butler Turner. Archie worked for 43 years with Thomasville Furniture Industries as a lead sprayer. In his spare time, he loved spending time outside working in his yard or garden. He also enjoyed fishing back in the day. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Collins Turner; one son, Archie Wayne Turner; three sisters, Doris Hammonds, Sallie Pearl Edwards, and Shelby Jean Johnson; and two brothers, Marshall Turner and Horace Turner.

Surviving are his two children, Connie Earnhardt and husband Gary of Thomasville and Johnny Turner and wife Tammy of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Archie, Jonathan, Olivia, Logan, Allen, Travis, Ashley, Brian, and Jeffery; fifteen great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carl Turner, Mae Cardwell, and Willie Mae Willard; and several extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Steve Manley officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.
