Mr. Aubrey Lee Smith, age 93 of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Born August 18, 1932 in Davidson County, NC a son of the late Numa Lee Smith and the late Elva Belle Hine Smith.  Aubrey was a lifelong member of Friedland Moravian Church. He loved carpentry, woodworking, farming and gardening and sitting on his front porch watching the passersby. Aubrey loved watching and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various activities. Aubrey had a love for photography that he acquired as the first photographer of the first school yearbook for Robert B. Glenn High School and made that his career as owner/operator of Personal Color Prints. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Ellen Rogers.

Surviving is his loving wife of seventy-two years Emma Nora Idol whom he married May 24, 1953. Also surviving is his son Daniel Smith and his wife Lynn of Lexington, NC; his daughter Joanna Shore of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Emily Shore of Indiana, Melissa Rogers of West Virginia, Russell Smith of Lexington, NC, Anna Shore of Winston-Salem, NC; great-grandchildren, David and Daniel Winebarger and Lucas, Leo, Logan and Layden Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Friedland Moravian Church with Pastor John G. Rights officiating. Burial will be in the Friedland Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Friedland Moravian Church, 2750 Friedland Moravian Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
