Mr. Austin Cole Cranford, 20, a resident of Lexington, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020. Austin was born in Davidson County to Jennifer Mills Cranford and Kevin Lyle Cranford on November 29, 1999. He worked as a tow truck driver for Tracy’s towing and also was a mechanic for BK Supercenter. Austin loved fishing, mudding in his Jeep, and was a hard worker. However, above all else he was a man who loved his family. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. Austin was 13 when he met the love of his life, Briana Benson. They were engaged to be married in September of 2020. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith. Austin was preceded in death by his sister, Mallory Marie Cranford and paternal grandfather, Norman Cranford and step-paternal grandfather, Troy Mainor.
Austin is survived by his fiancée, Briana Benson, a son, Gunner, and daughter, Mallory all of the home; his father, Kevin Cranford and wife Anna of Lexington; his mother, Jennifer Cranford of Thomasville; brothers, Dylan Cranford of Winston-Salem, Tristan “TJ” James Alexander Cranford of Lexington and Alton Holt of Lexington; sisters, Sadie Cranford of Thomasville; grandparents, Nana Judy Crawford of Thomasville, Joyce Mainor of Thomasville, and Tom Mills of Oklahoma; nephew, Graham Cranford; best friends, Devin Snider of Lexington, Braydon Jacoby of Summerville, SC; second mom, Misty Holt; several cousins, and many more friends.
A funeral service will be held in JC Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Lin Story-Bunce officiating on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 9:00 AM. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and again on Saturday, following the service, until 1:00 PM at 168 Southwood Drive Lexington, NC 27292.
