Bena Shetler Miller

Mrs. Bena Shetler Miller, 95, of Hickory Trail, died Friday, July 3, 2020 at her home.  She was born on June 12, 1925 in Holmes County, OH to Henry Shetler and Alma Kaufman Shetler and had been a resident of Davidson County since 1976.  She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Community Chapel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eli C. Miller on February 24, 2004, whom she married on November 15, 1945; two grandchildren, Jonathan Miller and Jenny Miller; brothers, Malva, Mervin, and Delbert Shetler; and sisters, Viola Yoder and Mary Miller.

Surviving are seven daughters, Alma Johnson and husband Bruce of Lexington, Sarah Heintzelman and husband Carl of Thomasville, Mae Scroggins and husband Lee of Cincinnati, OH, Viola Durr and husband Bennie of Franklin, OH, Ida Charlton and husband Roger of Groveland, IL, Miriam Gee and husband Jon of Lexington, and Brenda Johnson and husband Greg of DeMossville, KY; four sons, Edward Miller and wife Cheryl of Thomasville, David Miller and wife Connie of Lexington, Steven Miller and wife Rebecca of Franklin, OH, and Ronald Dean Miller of Lexington; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-great grandchildren; and brother, Paul Shetler of Fredricksburg, OH.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Faith Community Chapel with Revs. Bennie Durr, Daniel Downing, and Jonathan Heath officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will greet friends on Monday, July 6, 2020 prior to the service at the church from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Carolina Christian Academy, 367 Academy Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
