Mr. Bert Gronseth, 85 of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Monday March 7, 2022. Bert was born on June 2, 1936 to the late John Edward Gronseth and Dickie Bert (Yerington) Gronseth. Bert devoted his life to helping others. He was a lifelong volunteer, serving as an avid Red Cross blood donor and assisting the Samaritan Soup kitchen regularly. He wore many hats including as crew chief for a drag racing car, children’s swimming instructor, “cellar troll,” and the “elf himself.” Bert worked for many years as a guidance counselor in the public school system and later transitioned to working for the State of New York as a psychologist. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, and spending time with all his girls.
In addition to his parents, Bert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Anne Edmond of 36 years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Dickie Lynn Gronseth (Les Selecky) of Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Jessica Gronseth Springthorpe (Jay) of Winston-Salem, NC; grandson, Evan Edward Gronseth Tracy of Philadelphia, PA; close family friend Crystal Crouse (Benjamin Vaughan) of Winston-Salem, NC; and pets, Annie and Bella aka “the Girls.”
A memorial service will be held June 2nd 2pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church (1416 Bolton St SW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103) with Reverend Johnathon Gaska officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
