Betty Jane Ward

Betty Jane Ward, 73, of Thomasville, passed away Thursday morning, August 14, 2025, at Thomasville Medical Center.  She was born on August 3, 1952, in Davidson County, NC, to the late Sylvester Ward and Ellen Thornton Ward.  Betty lived a life full of family, travel, fishing and spending time with her church family.  She loved the beach, auctions and anything Christmas related.  Her favorite companions were her fur babies, Wendy and Bubba. 

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by two brothers, Erby Ward and Billy Ward; and her sister-in-law, Brenda Ward.    

Surviving is her children, Anthony Forrest (Kelly) of Ohio, Chastity Walser of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, Jessica Hughes (Josh) of Thomasville, Sarah Adkins of Thomasville, Alex Forrest, Hailey Forrest, Taylor Forrest from Georgia, Chris Finley, Tyler Finley, Kylee Hardesty of Ohio; two brothers, Benny Ward, Horace Ward (Gina); two sisters, Carlene Ward Mason, Maryanne Ward Miller; a sister-in-law, Princess Olshinksi; and loads of nieces and nephews.   Betty will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church, 4014 Ball Park Road, Thomasville, NC.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fonda Norris, Trustee, to help cover funeral expenses.  Online condolences may be left for the Ward family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
