Betty Jean (Doss) Ricker

Betty Jean Ricker,84, of Winston Salem North Carolina passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. She was born in 1941 in Keokuk, Iowa, and graduated from Keokuk High School in 1959. On February 25, 1961, Betty married her best friend and love of her life, Ray Ricker, with whom she shared many wonderful years.

Betty lived a full and meaningful life devoted to her family and to helping others. Over the years, she worked as a pharmacy technician, a home health aide, and a salesperson; roles through which she touched many lives and earned the respect and friendship of those around her.

She had a lifelong love of reading, traveling, and working crossword puzzles, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Shawn Iennaco of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Amy Spease and her husband Barry of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; four grandchildren Dylan Hennings of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Christopher Iennaco of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, Damian Iennaco of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Tyler Hennings and his wife Allis of Arcadia, North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren, Kaiden Hennings (14), Braclynn Hennings (6), and Aubrynn Hennings (3).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Ricker, and her son, Jason Ricker.

Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2026 in her hometown of Keokuk, Iowa. The exact date will be announced at a later time.
