Betty Embler Simpson, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May18, 2026 while at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Guilford County to the late Tobias Curly Embler and Nettie Waynick Embler on May 4, 1935.She attended Wallburg School and worked at Adams-Millis Hosiery Mill until becoming a dedicated homemaker. Betty was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, camping, boating and watching her family play sports. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis LeonSimpson, an infant son and two brothers, Jack and Donald Embler.
Surviving to forever cherish her memory is her son, Michael Simpson (Lisa); two grandchildren, Andrew Simpson (Whitney) and Alexis Reeves (Matt); and five great-grandchildren, Camden Reeves, Reid Simpson, Lyla Reeves, Blake Simpson, and Rhett Simpson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home – Wallburg Chapel, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem, NC27107, with Pastor Roger Cook officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 3250 High Point Road, Winston-Salem, NC. The family will greet friends on Friday prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Wallburg.
