Betty Ann (James) Vest

Mrs. Betty Ann James Vest, 78 of Winston Salem passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at her home. Betty was born March 07, 1947 in Norfolk County, Virginia to the late Kenneth David James and Annie Davidson James. She worked many years for AT&T Telephone. Betty enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and tending to flowers. She loved her family dearly and enjoying making memories with them. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James A. Vest on January 12, 1993; one brother, Harold James. 

Surviving are her children, Judy Hale and husband Steve, Jr., Heidi Timmons and husband Gary, Tammy Crews and fiancé Chris Utt, Lisa Vest, Sherrie Wells and fiancé Carlton Baker, and James Vest, Jr.; two brothers, Kenneth James and Frankie James; grandchildren, Stephen Hale, III, Eric Hale, Travis Hale and wife Ashley, Gary Timmons, Jr. and fiancé Isis Jolly, Christopher Timmons and fiancé Adriana Lasso, Chase Utt and fiancé Gabby, Christopher Utt and fiancé Samantha, Bradley Crews and wife Mackenzie, Samantha Turner and fiancé Drake Turner, Jennifer Beaman, Tristan Wells, Faith Wells, Robert Baker, and Kelly Baker; great-grandchildren, Alex Hale, Maddox Hale, Zaine Hale, Noah Hale, Brantley Hale, C.J. Hale, Gracie Hale, Daelyn Coleman, Lucas Timmons, Oliver Timmons, Luna Timmons, Sol Timmons, Axle Timmons, Allison, Chris, Rachelle Krauch, Baby Turner, Layne Crews, and Mack Crews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Park at 6850 University Pkwy, Rural Hall, NC 27045. The family will greet friends prior to the graveside service at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home at 122 W. Main Street Thomasville, NC 27360 from 11:45 AM-12:45 PM.
