Mr. Bobby Ray Cox, 79, of Denton, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born on December 17, 1941 in Davidson County to the late Silas Cox and Alma Bullins Cox. Bobby was a proud Veteran, serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked and retired from Billings in Lexington as a diesel mechanic. Bobby always had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working with wood, working in his garden, and he loved marching in the annual Memorial Day Parade in Thomasville with his fellow Veterans. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen and four brothers, Jimmy, Otis, Major, and Clinton, and two sisters, Lucy and Della Mae.
Surviving are his three daughters, Angela Cox Hill and husband Douglas of Denton, Carol Cox Clark and husband Christopher of Lexington, and Cristal Cox of Concord; one sister, Marie Thompson and husband Everette of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Timothy Lamonds, Steven Lamonds, Tyler Tran, Dustin Cox, Chasity Myers, Andrea Conner, and Daniel Everhart; twelve great-grandchildren; and many more family and friends.
A graveside service with military rites will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery with his son-in-law, Douglas Hill officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com
