Bobby Wayne Holder

Mr. Bobby Wayne Holder, 76, a resident of Sophia, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2026 at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point.  Bobby was born November 24, 1949 in Iredell County to the late John Walter Holder and Gladys Flora Williams Holder.   He was a faithful member of New Grace Baptist Church in Thomasville and often drove the church van to pick up seniors who couldn’t drive.  In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed reading his Bible, and spending time with his family.  For 50 years, he drove a truck and really enjoyed seeing the different locations he delivered to.  Bobby’s greatest enjoyment was his Lord, his wife, driving a truck and his family, especially the babies.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and he will be dearly missed by everyone.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his three sisters, Annie Smith, Lois Tish and Juanita Smith; four brothers, Walter Holder, Jr., Billy Holder, Richard Holder and an Infant brother; and his special fur-baby Daisy. 

Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Seay Holder, of the home; his son, Raymond Holder (Mary Barber – fiancé); his daughter, Tammy Hernandez; six grandchildren, Kasey Long (Barry), Justin Mckinney (Whitney), Jessica Mize (Russell), Aaron Holder, Isabella Grace Barber, Elizabeth Diane Holder; nine great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

A celebration of life will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at New Grace Baptist Church 1029 Blair Street, Thomasville, NC, with Pastor Donnie Lunsford and Bo Coleman officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Hospice of the Piedmont 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
