Bobby Lee Craven

Mr. Bobby Lee Craven, 85, a resident of N. Jones Street, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his home.  He was born on May 14, 1935 in Guilford County, NC to Alva Roosevelt Craven and Grace Josephine Ledwell Craven. He was a US Navy veteran and formerly attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He retired after a 41year career with Old Dominion Freight Line, where he was awarded for 1,000,000 safe miles with the company.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who had a wonderful sense of humor.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lambeth Craven on May 12, 2004; daughter, Lori Church; and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his daughters, Wendy Martin and husband Rodney and Deanna Smith and husband Raymond, all of Denton; several brothers and sisters; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Harold Lambeth of Denton.

A graveside service with military rites provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Albert Craven officiating.
