Bonnie Belle (Gammons) Leonard

Bonnie Belle Gammons Leonard, 91, of Winston Salem passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Thomasville. She was born on May 6, 1934 in Surry County, North Carolina to the late Ernest and Eva Noah Gammons. She was a homemaker. On September 4, 1950 she married Jack William Leonard who preceded her in death in 2001.

Surviving are her four daughters, Linda Hamilton (Allen), Sandra Stanley (Walter), Teresa Beane (Timmy), and Dawn Bundy (Martin); seven grandchildren, Julie Jordan, Erica Wolfe, Jessica Meggison, Tara Ramos, Kimberly Shoaf, Marshall Bundy and Jackson Bundy. She also has 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Fred Gammons and wife Wilma and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her children, she and her husband were foster parents to more than 30 children for Davidson County Department of Social Services.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church 280 Clodfelter Road, Thomasville, NC 27360 with Rev. Jimmy Vickrey officiating. The family will greet friends following the graveside service. Bonnie will lie in state at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 5:30 PM and Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
