Bonnie June Johnson Bodenheimer

Mrs. Bonnie June Johnson Bodenheimer, 78, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Hospice Home at High Point.  She was born on September 9, 1946 in Davidson County, NC to Linville David Johnson and Thelma Leigh Johnson.  She graduated from Ledford Senior High School, where she played Varsity Basketball all 4 years, was member of the Beta Club, and was voted Miss Merry Christmas. She also graduated from Ashmore Business College in Thomasville.  She retired from Sara Lee in Winston-Salem as an executive secretary and also worked for Hanes Millis.  She was a member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church and loved cross-stitching, sitting in the sun, and quoting the Bible. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Carpenter; and her brother, Lennie Johnson.

On June 16, 1967, she married Thomas (Tommy) Harrison Bodenheimer, who survives of the home; also surviving are her daughters, Kristy Mabe and husband Keith and Nikki Francis, all of High Point; her son, Rusty Bodenheimer and wife Ashley of High Point; seven grandchildren, Kalin Mabe, Kadie Mabe, Ivye Francis, Ava Francis, Mason Francis, Boe Bodenheimer, and Claire Bodenheimer; brothers, Jake Johnson and wife Kathy and Scott Johnson and wife Julie; sisters-in-law, Roxane Johnson and Peggy King; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Abbott’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Livengood and Rev. Roy Cantrell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262.  Online condolences may be sent to the Bodenheimer family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
