Branson Hunt Obituary

Mr. Branson Glenn Hunt, 81, of Thomasville passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 29, 2022 with his loving family close by. Branson was born May 24, 1941 in Randolph County to the late Dalton Hunt and Willie Younts Hunt. Branson worked many years as a Heavy Machine Operator for Dolan Bowers Construction and retired after 40 years of service. Branson enjoyed being outside and living life to the fullest. Days spent horseback riding, gardening, fishing, tending to his farm animals, enjoying High Rock Lake and being on his tractor brought him great joy. The time spent with his family was his greatest blessing. He will be greatly missed by many. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Ann Atkins; half-sister, Peggy Edwards nephew, Stevie Stanley; son-in-law, Terry Simmons.

 

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Jeannine Evon Johnson Hunt of the home; two sons, Billy Hunt and wife Lisa, Scott Hunt and wife Tammy; one daughter, Tammy Simmons; one sister, Judy Moorelock; five grandchildren, Will “Scooter” Hunt, Brandon Simmons and wife Lea, Christy Younts and husband Brandon, Courtney West and husband Carl, Brittney Peterson and husband Alex; eleven great-grandchildren, Madisyn Younts, Peyton Younts, Kara Simmons, Kylee Simmons, Tristan Simmons, Dalton West, Carter West, Aaliyah West, Isabella Trent Skylar Trent, Ashley Crater.

 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Harold Harper and Cynthia Swicegood officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
