Brenda Lewallen Obituary

Brenda Lewallen, 73, of Thomasville went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, May 28, 2023 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

Brenda was born October 25, 1949 to the late Clara “Nanny George” Mae Todd and Alex “Pop” David Todd. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Howard David Lewallen.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Terry Kindley and wife Sherry, Tina Kindley, Kerry Kindley and wife Melissa; grandchildren: Justin Kincaid and girlfriend Christina, Amber Carroll and husband Jason, Hannah Helton, Felicia Kincaid and fiancé Jerry Hopkins, Heather Sisk and husband Hayden, Breanna Ledford and husband Zachary, Hillary Zanenghi and husband Zachary; seventeen great-grandchildren: Bailey, Kayden, Casen, Easton, Joshua, Isaiah, Noah, Titus, Kimberly, Isaac, Savannah, Jackson, Drew, David, Caleb, Selah, and Hadley;  and sibling: David “Davie” Todd.

Brenda, known as “Nanny” by her family members, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed crafting and candy-making, an art she has shared with three generations. She was rarely without some type of crafting project in hand. Brenda loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was what many would call the matriarch of the family—she was always able to bring everyone together.

She was a devoted wife to Howard Lewallen. They spent 29 joyous years together and shared many unforgettable memories. Following the death of her husband, she became an active resident at the Lexington Senior Care Center and even began teaching classes for the other residents. She loved sharing her talents with others and would often make jewelry and wreaths as gifts to her fellow residents. She always wore a smile on her face and was full of humor.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home chapel in Thomasville. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens in Jamestown. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to help with final expenses to Kerry Kindley, 533 Lakeview Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360.
