Mrs. Brenda Bean Smith, 75, a resident of Thomasville passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on July 28, 1945 in Forsyth County to the late Charles Lester Bean and Julia Binkley Bean. Brenda was a lifetime member of West End United Methodist Church in Thomasville where she was active with the church choir. She worked for 39 years for the City of Thomasville Parks and Rec. Department as an administrative assistant. Brenda was a hardworking woman who loved her family and church dearly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Tubby” Smith and her son, Chad Smith.
Surviving are her daughter, Julie Smith and fiancé Max of Thomasville; one brother, Phil Bean and wife Rita of Greensboro; one granddaughter, Cathryn; two nieces, Lindsey Bradly and Meredith Carden and husband Phil; six great nieces and nephews; and many loving cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Myra Ward Brown officiating. Mrs. Smith will lie in state on Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. The family will greet friends after the graveside service at the home of Brenda’s sister-in-law, Priscilla Stowe, 205 E. Sunrise Ave., Thomasville.
