Mr. Brian John Caulfield, 73 of High Point, North Carolina, passed away on Friday June 26, 2026, surrounded by his family. Brian was born in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Key West, Florida on June 24th, 1953. He was the son of Frank Kenneth Caulfield and Irene Joan Caulfield. He graduated from Bishop McGuinnes High School in 1971 and attended High Point College and was goalie on the soccer team.
Brian married the love of his life, Rayma Bray Caulfield on April 27th, 1974, at Oakview United Methodist Church in High Point. They were happily married for 53 years!
Brian joined the High Point Police Department in 1974. He served the community as a patrol officer, vice narcotics officer, as well as a burglary and arson detective. He was awarded, “Police Officer of the Year” in 1979 presented by the High Point Merchants Association. He was also awarded, “Outstanding Young Law Enforcement Officer” in 1979 by the High Point Jaycees Association. He stayed actively involved in the High Point Police Department throughout his life.
He owned and operated National Retail Painting, Inc. until the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ann Caulfield, and his son Kenneth Riley Caulfield.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rayma Bray Caulfield, his daughter Briana Caulfield (James) Ernsting, his grandson James Gunnar Ernsting, his granddaughter Kellyn McKenzie Caulfield, his brother Kevin Andrew Caulfield and his sister Adele Caulfield (Ed) Shiller as well as many nieces and a nephew.
Brian loved hunting with family and friends in eastern North Carolina, Fishing trips to the Outer Banks and many Golf trips.
Brian will be remembered by his crazy antics, his notorious pranks and his big heart!
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at 4:00pm at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Police Chaplain John Vernon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home. The family would like to offer special thanks to the physicians and nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Novant Hospital in Kernersville, NC and to his brother-in-law, Dr. Bryan Keith Bray..
