Brian Scott Wells Obituary

Mr. Brian Scott Wells, age 49, of High Point, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 9, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on September 1, 1975 to Ronnie and Kathy Medlin Wells of Lexington. 

Brian graduated from Ledford High School in 1994. He volunteered at Hasty Fire Department sparking his career. He later received an Associate’s Degree in Emergency Management from Forsyth Technical Community College and worked for Winston Salem Fire Department & Guil-Rand Fire Department earning the following Certifications: NC Firefighter I & II, EMT, ERT, Hazmat, Chemistry of Hazardous Materials and Rescue Diver. Ending his career in Chemical Environmental Services. Outside of work, Brian found joy in the outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt and scuba dive. 

Those who knew Brian will remember him for his big heart, infectious smile and adventurous spirit. Always willing to lend a hand.

Brian is survived by his precious daughter, Brianna Renee Wells of Thomasville; his parents, Ronnie and Kathy Medlin Wells; his sister, Amy Thomason (Jason) of Lexington; a niece, Ally Thomason; his grandmother, Dainese Hazzard of Providence Place in High Point; and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. 

Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Martha Medlin; paternal grandparents, Albert Hazzard, Sr. and Robert Rodney Wells; three uncles, Sunny Hazzard Jr, James Medlin, and Martin Medlin; and cousin Brad Spaugh.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Morris Little officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
