Mrs. Carnell Garner Ferrell, 96, passed away on February 14, 2020 at the Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on February 18, 1923 in Davidson County, NC to Charlie Garner and Jessie Parks Garner. She worked for Silver Knit Hosiery Mill and lastly in the cafeteria at Ledford Middle School. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women for 40+ years. She was a member of the Homemaker’s.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Monroe Ferrell on January 30, 2015, whom she married on July 19, 1941; her sisters, Evelyn Haynes, Nadine Leonard, Lorraine Weaver, and Sandra Swing; and her brother, Dale Garner.
Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Morgan of High Point and Jani Lee and husband Rick of Wallburg; sons, Michael Ferrell and wife Deborah and Mark Ferrell and wife Joyce, all of Kernersville, and Rick Ferrell and wife Alice of Walkertown; brother, Fred Garner and wife Nancy of Lexington; sisters, Margaree Broadway and Betty June Ball, both of Lexington; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Tom Mabry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
