Carole Andrews Obituary

Carole Ann Poole Andrews, 80, a resident of Bermuda Village in Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday evening, July 19, 2025.  She was born November 5, 1944 in Randolph County to the late Doak Andrews Poole and Dorothy Croker Poole.  Carole was a home maker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and DIY projects.  She was a Civil War and genealogy buff and loved discovering family history.  Carole enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of them.  On July 25, 1964, Carole married William “Joe” Andrews and they enjoyed 60 years as husband and wife before his passing last year. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Carole is preceded in death by a daughter, Jan, and two brothers, David Guy Poole and Thomas Doak Poole. 

Surviving are two daughters, Amanda “Mandi” Hunt and husband David, Lisa Hedgecock and husband Kevin, both of Thomasville; her brother, Marvin Croker and wife Libby of Richmond, VA; her sister, Betty Poole of Asheboro; four grandchildren, Andrew Widener, Bryce Hedgecock and wife Hayley, Lyana Hathaway and husband Carlisle, and Dawson Hunt; and a great-grandson coming in August.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.   Carole will lie in state on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home for friends to pay their respects.  Memorials in Carole’s memory can be sent to a local Food Bank of your choice.
