Carolyn Buck Hill, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House.

Carolyn was born on April 6, 1931 in Durham County, North Carolina to the late Otis Buck and Maude Lucille Fisher Hill. She was a faithful member of Unity United Methodist Church until her declining death. She owned and operated her own Hair Salon for many years. She was a very talented artist, and always took pride in her appearance. Carolyn lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and devotion to her family and friends. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Hill on November 17, 2006; one son, Gary Hill; one daughter, Dianne Johnson; and two sisters.

Surviving is her son-in-law, Howard Johnson; three grandchildren, Tracy German, Daniel German and wife Tonya, and Denver Hill and wife Michelle; six great- grandchildren, Bella German, Caylynn Westberg, Cameron Haney, Nicole Haney, Ashlyn Haney and Addison Haney. She also leaves behind seven great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Unity United Methodist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Lisa Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
