Mr. Charles Lee Scarlett, 76 of Thomasville passed away peacefully Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his residence. Charles was born October 17, 1945 in Davidson County to the late Everett Scarlett and Nina Trotter Scarlett. Charles worked many years at Thomas Built Buses. He served his country in the National Guard in 1966. He was a member of the Lexington division of The American Legion. Charles was very talented in leather craft; he was well known for his talent in custom leather belts. Charles would travel around to shows selling his handmade leather belts. He also enjoyed visiting local flea markets. Charles loved spending time with his beloved furry companion, Bear. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Beauford Trotter, Jimmy Scarlett; his father and mother-in-law, Jack Beasley and Lois M. Beasley.
Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Connie Beasley Scarlett of the home; one daughter, Shannon Scarlett of the home; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Lee Scarlett, Jr, Christopher Lance Scarlett and wife Lori; two brothers, Bill Trotter, Wayne Scarlett; two sisters, Evelyn Grooms Grubb, Donna Spurrier; five grandchildren, Jesse Scarlett, Chris Scarlett, Charlee Scarlett, Samuel Scarlett, Eli Scarlett; three great-grandsons, Rylan Watt, Lincoln Scarlett, Kashyn Scarlett; he also leaves behind his beloved dog, Bear.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 4:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Christopher Lance Scarlett officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 3:00-4:00PM. The family request that mask be worn at all times during services.
