Chase Viars Obituary

With heavy but grateful hearts, we remember the beautiful life of Chase Mason Viars, 13, who went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was born on October 2, 2012 in Winston-Salem to his parents, Mary Foley Viars and Gary Viars.

Though Chase faced challenges from the very beginning, he met the world with a spirit far bigger than his small body. Living with cerebral palsy, Chase taught everyone around him what strength, joy, and determination truly looks like. What some might have seen as limitations, Chase transformed into moments of laughter and love.

To know Chase was to experience his extraordinary presence. His smile could light up a room, his laughter was contagious, and his personality was nothing short of larger than life.

His life was a powerful testament that greatness is not measured in years or physical ability, but in the depth of love we share.

Chase was a student at South Lexington Development Center where he formed special relationships with his beloved teachers and classmates.

He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Christopher Viars; a sibling, Baby Viars; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Peggy Foley; and paternal grandparents, Jerry and Virtie Endicott.

Surviving is his parents, Mary Foley Viars and Gary Viars; two brothers, Tyler Viars and Matthew Viars; four sisters, Melissa Grant (Ty), Shonna Foley, Morgan Foley (Brandon), and Mariah Viars; four nieces and nephews, Weston Grant, Brooklyn Underwood, Braydon Underwood, and Mason Grant; aunt, Shelby Foley; and countless other family members who loved him dearly.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we carry forward the lessons Chase gave us so freely: resilience, joy, and a love that knows no boundaries. His light will continue to shine in every life he touched.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Pastors Keith Carroll and Luke Jackson officiating.
