Claudia Anne Long Lovingood Obituary

Mrs. Claudia Anne Long Lovingood, 51, of Thomasville, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.  She was born on January 28, 1974 in Mecklenburg County, NC to Charles Lester Long and Denelta “Dee” Sigmon Clinard.

She graduated from East Davidson High School in 1992, where she was the teacher’s pet.  She was also in the school choir.  Claudia had a great singing voice but she would often deny it.  She earned a CNA certificate and worked tirelessly for 15 years at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community in Thomasville, where she made a lot of friends and was highly regarded and loved by her patients.  Claudia later worked at Child’s World Daycare in the Fair Grove community until her sickness.  Claudia’s favorite thing to do was watching her Baby Girl play basketball and softball.  She loved vacations, daycations, eating out and not cooking.  She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, where she was a Sunday School teacher.  She loved all the church functions, especially the singings and hot dog suppers.  Claudia was a very friendly, compassionate, and caring person.  Her beauty now shines in Heaven.  She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mallory Lovingood Richardson, “Baby Girl”, her paternal grandparents, Lester and Louise Long; and her maternal grandfather, Claude Sigmon.

Surviving is her husband and best friend, Allen Lovingood; her grandson and Play Pal, Beau Eugene Richardson; her son-in-law, Brent Richardson; her maternal grandmother, Ruby “Mimmie” Sigmon; her brother, Jimmy Long and wife Shannon; step-father, Colin Clinard; step-sister, Kandace Jones and husband Jimmy; great-uncle, Jimmy Griffin; great-aunt, Linda Griffin; father-in-law and “Boyfriend”, Bobby Lovingood; mother-in-law and caretaker, Sharon Lovingood; sister-in-law, Melanie Lovingood; niece, Adrienne “Dree” Stern; nephew, Addison “are you mad” Armino.  Also surviving are her loving church family at Open Door Baptist Church especially Rev. Don “Daddy” Hackett and his wife, Barbara “Momma” Hackett and Buddy and Janice Moore, and her sister-in-Christ, Michelle Gobble; and her aggravating Snuggle Buddy, Waylon.
