Clyde Miller Obituary

Mr. Clyde Franklin Miller, 94, a resident of Lexington passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Clyde was born June 3, 1929 in Forsyth County, NC a son of the late George Wesley Miller and the late Della Painter Miller and had made Forsyth/Davidson County his home all of his life. He was a retired upholsterer for Fogle Furniture Company. Clyde loved to fish, was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Clyde was a member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandchild Hunter K. Baum, a brother Paul Miller, and his sisters Mary Lou Myers and Corena Hall. On August 7, 1949 he married Peggy Scales who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his son Mike Miller (Patsy) of Midway; his daughter, Denise Oldham (Doug Gravley) of Lexington; grandchildren, Meredith D. Baum of Gastonia, Melissa O. Sells (Shane) of Kernersville, Christopher V. Oldham (Stevie) of Lexington; Kenneth Wesley Miller (Caroline) of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren, Alexander K. Baum of Summerville, SC, Dylan K. Baum of Gastonia, Aubrey L. Sells of Kernersville, Nash C. Oldham of Lexington, Gage T. Sells of Kernersville Knox H. Oldham of Lexington; his sister, Trudy Jordan (Wayne) of Midway; sister-in-law, Virginia Miller of Winston-Salem; brother-in-law, Bill Scales (Betty) of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Glenn Hancock officiating. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Clyde’s memory may be made to Trellis Palliative and Hospice Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
