Mr. Clyde Richard Mitchell, 77, a resident of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born April 19, 1948, in Stokes County, North Carolina to the late, Ernest Clyde Mitchell and Mary Hall Mitchell. Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Army stateside and was also stationed in Germany. He was of the Baptist Faith and owned C.R. Mitchell Maintenance and worked for many years as an electrician in the construction industry. Clyde loved to work, but in his spare time, he enjoyed riding the tractor, lawn mower and 4-wheeler around the family farm. He was a fan of the Carolina Tar Heels and was also a Dale Earnhardt fan “back in the day.” On July 1, 1973, Clyde married Linda Mae Williams and they enjoyed 52 years together as husband and wife, before his passing. Clyde was a social butterfly who never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Clyde is preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Mitchell and Eddie Mitchell.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Linda Williams Mitchell of the home; three brothers, Mike Mitchell and wife Vickie of Thomasville, Lannie Mitchell and wife Kathy of Thomasville and Gary Mitchell and wife Andrea of High Point; one sister, Pam Fellers of Central, SC; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville, NC. The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday night at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, North Carolina.
