Colleen Carolyn (Childress) Alford

Colleen Carolyn Childress Alford, 80, of Thomasville passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. Colleen was born June 26, 1945 in Charlotte County, Virginia to the late Carey Clinton Childress and Fannie Hopkins. She attended Trinity Assembly Church, which she loved dearly. She enjoyed shopping, but most of all spending time with her beloved family and making memories with them.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry "Pete" Gray Alford, Jr.

Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Jerry Alford of the home; three children, Lisa Alford of FL, Kevin Alford of Thomasville, and Karen Lang and husband Brian of Kernersville; one brother, James Childress; three sisters, Linda Brady, Peggy Long, and Thelma Holdren; she also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. H. Priddy officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery.
