Mr. Craig Jarrell Denny, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in the community of Horneytown in Forsyth County on July 29, 1941, a son of the late Cladie B. Denny and Frances Coe Denny Bunn. Craig was educated at High Point Senior High School and Kings College of Raleigh, NC. He served in the U.S. Air Force for six years and was stationed for two years at Hahn Air Base in Germany, during the Vietnam era. Craig was proud to be an American and a Christian, and he flew both flags daily. He loved working with wood, reading, and was very knowledgeable about computers. Craig was employed by AM Multigraphics for thirty years, retiring in 1995. In addition to his parents, Craig is preceded in death by his stepfather, Ernest L. Bunn; brothers, Cleo F. Denny and C. Michael Denny; and infant sister, Clara M. Denny.
He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth G. Denny of the home; daughter, Susan Vest (Bill) of Columbus, Mississippi; son, Craig “Jerry” Denny Jr. (Kim) of Papillion, Nebraska; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, C. Gray Denny (Jan) of Winston-Salem; and sister-in-law, Joyce Denny of High Point.
Craig’s service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at JC Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel - 10301 N.C. Highway 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, with Elder Steve Nichols and Rev. Walter Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Abbotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. Craig will lie in repose at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00pm for those who would like to pay their respects.
