Mr. Custer Franklin Laws, 82, of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2026 at Thomasville Medical Center. Custer was born in Bell County, Kentucky on March 2, 1944, to his parents, the late Zeb Edward Laws, Sr. and Gatha Bradshaw Laws. Custer worked in the furniture industry for many years and attended Church of God of Prophecy in High Point. He enjoyed fishing and cheered on the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds. Custer also loved watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke.
In addition to his parents, Custer was preceded in death by six brothers, Zeb Laws, Jr., Larry Laws, Edward Laws Ernest Laws, Johnny Laws and Charlie Laws; and a sister, Shelby Jones.
Surviving is his loving wife, Geraldine Smith Laws of the home; his daughter, Charlotte Laws of the home; a brother, Terry Laws and wife Linda of New Richmond, OH; two sisters, Carrie Mae James and husband Gary of Dry Ridge, KY and Mary Bradenbarry of Ludlow, KY. Custer will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville, NC, with Rev. David Hutch officiating. The family will greet friends at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
