Cynthia McMullen

Cynthia L. McMullen, age 61, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 while at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  She was born on November 29, 1964 in Franklin County, Ohio a daughter of the late Joe and Janet Smith McMullen.  Cynthia was a retired dental assistant.  Her favorite seasons were Summer and Fall, and enjoyed trips to the mountains and coast, searching for shark’s teeth and stones, camping, and horseback riding.  Cynthia will be remembered most as a loving mother and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Nevin Cartright.

She is survived by her two children, Marty Cortright and wife Kimberly of Winston-Salem, and Marlene Cortright of South Carolina; brother, Scott McMullen and wife Joyce of Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren, Bella and Aurora Cortright.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Lexington Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4230 Old U.S. Hwy 52, Lexington, NC.
