Obituary
Mr. Darcy George Laporte, 57, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023 at his home. He was born on July 7, 1965 in Timmins, Ontario, Canada to Darcy George Laporte and Berenice Anne Lapointe Laporte, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a propane technician with Suburban Propane and a general contractor, who loved building houses and technology.
On March 17, 2001, he married Julie Ann Grainger, who survives of the home; also surviving are his sons, Tyler Laporte and Travis Laporte, both of Ontario, Canada; daughter, Ashley Hilchey and husband A.J. of Lexington; brother, Mitch Laporte of Ontario, Canada; sisters, Rachelle Laporte and Claire Laporte, both of Ontario, Canada and Louise Laporte of Texas; and granddaughter, Taylor Hilchey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Reverend Carl Sutton officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Kidney Fund, 7020 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
