Darrell Johnston Hartsell

Darrell Johnston Hartsell, 67 of Clemmons passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Darrell was born September 1, 1957 in Davidson County to the late Olin Johnson Hartsell and Betty Mae Hicks Hartsell. He worked many years as a Welder and owned his own business, Triad Welding. He loved to restore cars and ride his Harley. Darrell was a true family man; he loved to spend as much time as possible with them and make endless memories. He was a loving husband, daddy, papa, brother, and friend; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving is his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Sheets Hartsell of the home; two daughters, Tiffanie Hoover and husband Bill of Durham, and Brittany Wilkins and husband Zach of Winston Salem; one brother, Bruce Hartsell and wife Lee of Thomasville; two sisters, Sandra Thomas and husband John, and Brenda Waterhouse, all of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Kylie Hoover, Thomas Wilkins, Will Hoover, and Karstin Wilkins; uncles, Delbert Hicks, Tony Hartsell (Carol), and Rick Hartsell (Debbie); aunts, Barbara Smith, Marvina Powers, Georgina Hill, and Shirley Hartsell; his mother-in-law, Ruby Muncy and husband Tommy; father-in-law, Gilbert Sheets and wife Peggy; two brothers-in-law, Michael Sheets and wife Tonya and Stephen Sheets. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and his fur babies, Benji and Bailey.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Jim Summey officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.
