David Roy Hancock

Mr. David Roy Hancock, 84 of Thomasville passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at his residence with his loving family by his side. David was born October 11, 1936 to the late Walter Hancock and Elsie Summey Hancock in Randolph County. David worked many years in the Furniture industry. He was a member of Hughes Grove Baptist Church. David thoroughly loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid Carolina Tar Heels fan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kindley Hancock; five brothers, Vinson Hancock, Wade Hancock, John Hancock, Robert Hancock, Bobby “Ace” Hancock; two sisters, Thelma Bowers, Treva Williams.

Surviving is his daughter, Deborah Gallimore; one son, Roy Bryan Hancock, both of Thomasville; one sister, Martha Faye Kindley; four grandchildren, Brandon Hancock, Brad Hancock, David Gallimore, Aiden Gallimore; five great-grandchildren, Kainin Hancock, Brielle Hancock, Natalie Hancock, Ethan Hancock and Haleigh Hancock.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hughes Grove Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. John Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J. C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
