David Safewright Obituary

David Farrell Safewright, 63, of Thomasville passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. David was born December 16, 1957 to the late Johnny Farrell Safewright and Mary Elizabeth Bullard in Davidson County. David worked many years in Computer Programming at Culp Inc. and he attended Samaritan Baptist Church. He enjoyed doing genealogy, working outdoors, and loved baseball. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruby Safewright.

Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Elizabeth “Ellen” Safewright of the home; sons David Grant Safewright and wife Amanda of Thomasville, and Shean Harris of Thomasville; half brother Jerry Huber of Thomasville; and sisters Carolyn Morgan of Lexington, and Diane Foushee of Spencer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Samaritan Baptist church, 4800 Reid Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27107 with Reverend Danny Smith officiating. An interment will follow in the church cemetery.
