David Ray Walker, Jr., 67, of Thomasville passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Hospice of the Piedmont surrounded by his loving family. David was born February 25, 1959 in Davidson County to the late David Ray Walker, Sr. and Mary Lee Hunt Walker. He owned and operated local convenience stores for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved street racing and Chevrolet. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Walker; a nephew, Justin Wayne Hunt; a brother-in-law, Jay Harrison.
Surviving is his daughter, Brandy Butler; his long-time companion of over 30 years, Connie Roach of the home; two sisters, Debbie Hunt and Husband Rocky and Bobbie Harrison; two-step children, Joseph Roach and Casey Noah; two grandchildren, Mason and Marleigh Butler; five step-grandchildren, Isaac Norris, Alex Noah, Hunter and Bryson Roach, Sadie McCracken, and; one step-great-grandchild, Memphis Norris. He also leaves behind his beloved niece and nephews; Michelle Hunt, Jonathan Walker and wife Kelly and Travis Walker; five great-nieces, Hannah Whitaker, Madelyn Walker, Kinlee Walker, Harper Walker, Charlotte Walker. He also leaves behind many close friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry King and Rev. Larry Spaulding officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
