David Edward White, Sr.

Mr. David Edward White, 91, peacefully left us to go and be with Jesus on Friday, January 15th. After a period of declining health and recent surgical complications, David crossed over in the endearing presence of his two loving daughters. Remembered as a devoted husband, caring father, loyal brother and cherished friend, he was at Peace. David was nowhere more at home than in his garden. David was preceded in death by his father-David Walter White and mother-Mary Coltrane, first wife-Birddie Coltrane White, their daughter Frances and a sister-Irene Johnson. He leaves behind a devoted and loving wife, Yvonna Sherrill White of the home, daughter Patti Housand and her husband Joe, daughter Cathy Coltrane White and a son-David White Jr. and wife Ramona. His siblings include Thomas White and his wife Betty, Thurman White, Herman White and sister Paula Burnett and her husband Ted. Additionally included are step-children Debbie Lambeth and husband Keever, Scott Sherrill and his wife Beverly and Cheri Koceja and her husband, Jon. He was also blessed to be gifted with the love of 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A public viewing will take place throughout the day this Sunday the 17th at JC Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. All are welcome and urged to pay their final respects during this time. Friends and family are additionally invited to a simple graveside service at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville at 1pm on Monday the 18th. This brief time of remembrance will be graciously and lovingly led by David’s dear friend and former pastor, Rev. Steve Jarvis. Additional commentary will also be provided by David’s brother, Rev. Herman White. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont.
