Mr. David “Larry” Coe, 78 of Thomasville went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Atrium Heath Wake Forest High Point Medical Center. Larry was born December 10, 1943 in Forsyth County to the late Mallory Guy Coe and Virginia Catherine Pyrtle Coe. Larry was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where over the years he served as President of the Methodist Men, Chairman of the Trustees, Sunday School teacher, choir member and helped cooked for numerous functions. Larry served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Larry retired from Piedmont Electric. He was a member of the Davidson County Cattlemen’s Association. Larry lived life to the fullest and enjoyed farming, hunting, visits to the mountains, but most of all, spending time with his beloved family. He was honored and respected by all who knew him; he was named Citizen of the year by the Civitans Club. Larry will be greatly missed. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one nephew, Steven Andrew Coe; brother-in-law, Kevin Prescott and many other beloved family members.
Surviving is his loving wife of 43 years Patsy Gayle Floyd Coe of the home; two sisters, Phyllis Ann Coe Cody and husband Wayne and Rebecca Coe Prescott; one brother, Timothy “Tim” Coe and wife Angie; he also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews; and two special caregivers, Howard Stone and David Mize.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Rodney Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the church from 12:30 PM till 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church Maintenance Fund, PO Box 1860, Thomasville, NC 27361.
