Mrs. Debra “Debbie” Lynn Wilcox Garris, 61, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on May 22, 1961 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Wanda Goins Millraney and Walt Wilcox. Debbie worked many years at Cecil & Johnson Manufacturing in High Point. She was always known as a hard worker and a good person to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Angie Owens, her grandson, Jerry “Momo” Garris, II; and sister, Cherri Wilcox.
Surviving is her husband of 38 years, Jerry Dean Garris, Sr; one son, Jericho Garris, Jr. (Asia) of Lexington; two daughters, Jennifer Justus of Archdale and Lisa Bair (Joe) of Panama City, FL; four siblings, Nickie Wilcox, Eddie Millraney, Vickey Shears (Tony), and Lanny Millraney; ten grandchildren, Jasmine Garris (Cory), Jyla Garris, Jericka Garris, Timothy Nicewonder, Brittany Delancy (Matt), Michael Tuberville, Christopher Owens, Madison Garris, Cali Justus, and Karli Justus; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Johnsie Garris; brother-in-law, Timmy Garris; and several extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com
