Obituary
Delmer Richard Lawson, Sr., 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023.
Delmer retired from Overnight Transportation and was a faithful member of Linville Forest Church of Christ. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Doris Yow Lawson; two sons: Delmer R. Lawson, Jr. and wife, Barbara, and Bobby L. Lawson; two daughters: Cynthia D. “Cindy” Lawson and special friend, Ronald Toothman, and Marie Lawson Ford; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Alton “Duck” Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Howard and Lillie Mae Vanhoy Lawson, one sister and four brothers.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem, NC, with Rev. Kelly Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Linville Forest Church of Christ, 450 Linville Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284 and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
Funeral services are under the direction of J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, Winston-Salem, NC.
