Dewey (Culp) Lomax

Mrs. Dewey Culp Lomax, 90, of Denton, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Mt. Vista Health Park in Denton, NC.  She was born on February, 4, 1935 in Rowan County, NC to William Culp and Carrie Leonard Culp.  She was a Secretary/Bookkeeper for many years at Carroll Corner Store in Denton, NC.  She was a member of Chapel Hill Church in Denton, NC. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, and eating out with her family at ‘Golden Corral’ and ‘OutBack’ Steakhouse.

She was married to Lee Roy Lomax, Sr. who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons; Lee Roy Lomax, Jr. and William Eric Lomax; four brothers, Billy Culp, Gene Culp, Robert Culp, and Tim Culp.

Surviving is her son David Ray Lomax, Sr. of Denton, NC; and brother, John B. Culp of Roanoke, VA; grandson, David Ray Lomax, Jr. and wife Marissa of Denton NC, and great grandson Blake Ryan Lomax of Denton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Son Chapel with the Rev. Daniel M. Downing and Rev. Davie Lomax officiating.  Prior to the Service the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00.  Interment will follow in the Chapel Hill Church Cemetery.
