Donald Ray Batten

Mr. Donald Ray Batten, age 61, a resident of Thomasville, joined the saints in Heaven on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Thomasville Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1959 in Guilford County, NC the son of Gilbert Ray Batten and Dorothy Huffman Batten. Donald owned LIFEBUILDERS, a construction company employing men recovering from the disease of addiction; "BUILDING LIVES ONE JOB  AT  A  TIME".  He worked as a SA Residential Tech CADC at Path of Hope Lexington, NC.  A member of Agape Faith Church, Donald was ordained to serve on the Outreach Recovery Ministry to correctional facilities.  He was involved with the AFC Band of Brothers and passionately served on mission building projects in Jamaica and Kenya.  He was a dedicated member of the ForYou, Inc family over 30 years where he became a Gold Eagle Executive Achiever.  

He is preceded in death by his father.  Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Christy Byerly Batten of the home; his mother, Dorothy Huffman Warfford of Thomasville; one brother, Jeff Batten and wife Amy; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Batten.

There will be a celebration of a life well lived at Agape Faith Church, 2101 Lewisville Clemmons Rd. Clemmons, NC 27012, on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM, prior to the service.
