Mrs. Donna Mae Freeman Ferguson, 104, of Thomasville, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Westchester Manor in High Point. She was born on September 6, 1921 in Randolph County, Ramseur, NC to Clarence Colvert Freeman and Eva Mae Miller Freeman. She worked for the family-owned café in Jewel Cotton Mill, then at Leach’s Curb Market, Mann’s Drug Store, and later retired from Alma Desk. She was the oldest and life-long member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville, where she sang in the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Gallimore; her brothers, Dewitt Freeman, Wayne Freeman, CC Freeman, Jr., Ned Freeman, and Ted Freeman; and her sisters, Lou Hunt and Joyce Cranford.
Surviving is her daughter, Eva Nifong of High Point; her two sons, Don Ferguson and wife Dianne and Kemp Ferguson, all of Thomasville; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Floyd and Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the sanctuary. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
